We are seeking an Learning Skills Facilitator to play a vital role in our mission of promoting inclusive economic growth. 

This position offers an exciting opportunity to educate and inspire underrepresented groups in entrepreneurship, challenging the status quo and enhancing the quality of entry-level teaching and learning in enterprise.


HOURS

Part-time, 25 hours per week, Term-Time (equivalent to 3.5 days with times being flexible depending on the delivery schedule).

£15-20 p/h based on experience.


POSITION IN ORGANISATION

 Reports directly to the Learning and Development Manager with overall responsibility of the delivery of all training programmes and workshops.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Design and Deliver Training Programmes and Workshops: Develop and deliver our accredited courses and workshops on enterprise skills, creating engaging, practical sessions that foster courage, self-belief, and motivation.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Provide one-to-one and group mentoring to aspiring entrepreneurs, guiding them through the processes of business planning, launching, and growth.
  • Resource Connection: Assist learners in connecting with relevant business resources, funding opportunities, and other forms of support.
  • Evaluation, Improvement, and Quality Assurance: Regularly assess the effectiveness of our programmes and implement necessary improvements. Collect and analyse participant feedback and learning outcomes to refine our programme delivery. Uphold the high-quality standards required by Ofsted, actively contributing to continuous quality improvement processes.
  • Assessment: Conduct regular learner assessments to gauge understanding and provide constructive feedback to ensure alignment with learning outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the wider FIRST team to support organisation-wide goals and initiatives. Actively participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.



QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES

Essential:

  • You must hold a teaching qualification of Level 4 or above.
  • A robust background in business, including experience running your own business.
  • Prior experience working with OFSTED and familiarity with its standards and expectations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex business concepts in a clear, creative, and accessible manner.
  • Prior experience in a teaching, coaching, or mentoring role is crucial. A passion for supporting the success of others is also highly valued.
  • Experience working with diverse groups, demonstrating the ability to develop an inclusive and respectful learning environment. 
  • The ability to adjust training methods to suit individual or group needs. 
  • Willingness to travel within the local area for community outreach and training sessions.
  • Flexibility to work both during the day and evenings.


Desirable: 

  • Have an assessor qualification or experience of assessing learner work.
  • Experience working with learners where English is an additional language and where learners have SEND.
  • Experience of working with adult learners for educational purposes.
