Startup Awards North East How it works
The categories
The final event spans an entire day and is organised into the following categories. Participants can enter only one category and must be available to attend the in-person live finals during the summer.
SkillUP - This category is suitable for those who haven't yet registered their business ideas with Companies House. You may not have a fully developed idea and are simply exploring the concept of starting a business.
StartUP - This category is for newly registered businesses with an annual turnover of less than £15,000.
ScaleUP - Designed for businesses that have been operational for a few years, are looking to expand, and have an annual turnover exceeding £15,000.
Please note that applications for the 2024 event are now closed. Join us on 18th June to watch the emerging talents of North East Entrepreneurship at the live final.
The Awards
For each category (SkillUP, StartUP, ScaleUP) you will be in with a chance of winning 2 awards. High Growth or Social Impact. You may even win both as it is decided live on the day by your audience. If this sounds nerve wracking don't worry, the FIRST team are here to support you and will give you plenty of help in the run up to the awards (including a 2 day accelerator!) to help you perfect your pitch and build up that self belief!
Join us on the 18th of June for the live finals.
