Job Title: Senior Recruitment Officer

Salary: £30,000–£35,000

Role Overview:
Are you an experienced recruitment professional with a strong background in sales and a hands-on approach? We are seeking a Senior Recruitment Officer to take charge of recruitment efforts within a specific area of the North East region. The role focuses on executing recruitment strategies and engaging with the local community, with responsibilities divided among various regions. We expect candidates to have established connections in the area they will be covering.


Key Responsibilities:

B2B Acquisition and Relationship Management:

  • Identify, acquire, and onboard new B2B partners within your assigned area to meet recruitment targets and contractual requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses and organisations to facilitate referrals and support recruitment activities.
  • Represent FIRST at local business networking events and client meetings in your region, strengthening partnerships and expanding our local network.

B2C Recruitment and Programme Management:

  • Serve as the primary contact for prospective learners within your area, using advanced customer service and sales skills to drive engagement and enrolment.
  • Manage the recruitment process for learners from initial contact to enrolment, ensuring a smooth and effective experience.

Team Coordination and Leadership:

  • Collaborate with other members of the recruitment team who are responsible for different regions (Newcastle/Gateshead, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Sunderland, Durham and Northumberland) to ensure cohesive and effective regional recruitment efforts.
  • Provide leadership and support within your area, driving the achievement of local recruitment targets and continuously improving processes.

Market Representation and Marketing:

  • Represent FIRST at key local events in your region, showcasing our programmes to potential learners and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the distribution of marketing materials and manage local social media channels to boost recruitment efforts.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee and optimise the recruitment process within your area to ensure alignment with organisational goals and high-quality outcomes.
  • Provide feedback to referral partners about learner engagement and performance, refining processes as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Undertake other duties as required to support organisational projects and strategic objectives.


Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in customer service, sales, or recruitment, with a proven track record in a senior role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage high-level B2B and B2C relationships.
  • Established connections and local knowledge in your assigned area of the North East region.
  • GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C or above, or equivalent qualifications.

Desirable:

  • Degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Advanced experience in sales, client development, and networking at a senior level.
  • Proven success in meeting and exceeding targets and KPIs.
  • Proficiency in using social media for recruitment and marketing purposes.


Skills:

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with exceptional IT skills.
  • Advanced administrative and organisational abilities, with a focus on managing confidential information.
  • Effective in prioritising workloads, multitasking, and achieving strategic goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening, critical thinking, and rapid assimilation of information.
