Industry Spark

INDUSTRY SPARK is an employer led business programme suitable for key stage 3 and 4 students. Brought to you by FIRST the inter school activities are designed to sit within curriculum and match real time, local labour market information by offering students an insight into the fastest growing sectors in their local area.

The format is tried and tested and matches the Gatsby Good Career Guidance benchmarks, 2, 4, 5 and 6 and now 7!

By taking part, students build links with employers, create innovative business ideas and develop a wide range of key employability skills. 100% of teachers from our 2019 programme rated the resources as good or excellent, with students acquiring business skills such as pitching, communicating ideas and networking with local employers.

The challenge consists of assemblies, tailored activities embedded into curriculum and live pitching finals with partner schools uniting and sharing their innovative business ideas. INDUSTRY SPARK is delivered in 3 stages:

SPARK:
Introductory assemblies delivered in partner schools

STARTUP:
Students and teachers are supported through the process with tailored resources and assistance from INDUSTRY SPARK staff

SUCCESS:
All participating schools are brought together for the live finals. Students pitch their business ideas to an audience of local employers and their peers.

PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:
The programme can be rebranded and designed for a specific campaign, business sector or programme that seeks to engage schools and their local business community.
