Study Online with Pearsons

You may not have heard of Pearsons but they have a wide range of online courses for you to study either in your own time or following a schedule.

The best thing about Pearsons however is the short quiz you can complete online to filter out courses depending on what sector you want to work in, how much time you want to spend on your course, whether you want a free or paid course and whether you'd like a certificate at the end of it all.

Perfect for all the free-time coming our way with the recent restrictions and threat of potential future lockdown!

Cedarwood Trust

If you're based in the North Tyneside area then why not get involved with the Cedarwood Trust.

If the Chef Apprenticeship above sounds like your bag, but it's too far away for you to apply then why not try their 'Couch to Kitchen' programme from their Second Bite Academy.

This is a free six week course to help you polish up your cooking skills and get in top of your gourmet game.

The other programme of interest is their 'Nature, Nourish, Thrive' project 'Step Up Into Care'.

This is a free project which aims to help introduce you to the care sector and offers accredited qualifications achieved either through work experience or working from home.

You can choose one of three areas: Early Years, Elders or Community which will also equip you with the necessary careers know how to excel in the care profession.

To find out more about either of these programmes you can call 0191 259 0245, or email info@cedarwoodtrust.co.uk for 'Couch to Kitchen' or louse@cedarwoodtrust.co.uk to enquire about 'Nature, Nourish, Thrive'.

Skills South Tyneside Careers Coach

If you're joining us from our newsletter then you've likely already seen this, but it is too good to not share again.

Skills South Tyneside have an online Careers Coach quiz which we have all done here at FIRST and we found scarily accurately, and if nothing else a bit spooky!

So if you've got a couple of minutes why not give it a go and see what careers it recommends to you.

There is a quick 6 minute test, or a longer 30 or 60 question test for you to complete. Also - don't worry, you don't need to be a resident of South Tyneside to complete this.
