ACCREDITED COURSES LEVEL 1: UNDERSTANDING ENTERPRISE
The course is designed to help those who are:
- Looking to gain employment.
- Pursue a new career opportunity.
- Become self-employed.
- Develop a business idea into a start up.
Units covered include:
- Identify and develop essential enterprise skills you need to change your career, start a business or become self-employed.
- Analyse and understand the risks associated with changing career or starting up including financial implications and market awareness/analysis.
- Get connected in your local business community with confidence, the value of networking and growing your professional contacts both on and offline.
This course is delivered online and face-to-face during daytimes or evenings as suits the individual.
ACCREDITED COURSE LEVEL 2: CUSTOMER READY
The course is designed to help those who are:
- Deciding to start a business.
- Understanding startup business models, products, and services.
- Ready to consider finance options.
Units covered include:
- Turning business plans into action
- Strategic marketing plans with target customer profiles.
- Business finance and funding
- Negotiate deals with potential customers and suppliers to maximise income.
- Access a wealth of information, advice, and support to kickstart your business with courage.
This course is delivered online and face-to-face during daytimes or evenings as suits the individual.
EVENTS & OPPORTUNTIES BIZ 'N' BAIT
A 2 hour networking event for those who are wanting to explore self employment but not sure how to start. The events provide an opportunity to ask questions, meet others who are self employed and access partners organisations to further your business support.
Events are free to attend but places must be booked in advance.
EVENTS & OPPORTUNTIES INVESTOR READY accelerator
A 2 day accelerator programme for registered startup businesses wanting to improve their knowledge and grow their business. Filled with a series of informative and interesting workshops aimed at existing business about funding, finance, legal, HR, marketing and sales.
Events are free to attend but places must be booked in advance.
EVENTS & OPPORTUNTIES BUSINESS SUPPORT REFERRAL
FIRST are working with a number of business support organisations across the North East to provide direct 121 support for anyone who is self employed.
Support can include short courses, workshops, 121 mentoring and support sessions and offered online as well as face-to-face.
Referral is free to access and all support signposted to is free to access.
