Course Themes: 

Theme 1 – It’s all about you
Begin your journey with structured self-reflection, assessing your motivations, strengths, skills, and knowledge. You’ll explore the rewards and commitments involved in running your own business, evaluating what skills you need to brush up on 

Theme 2 – Finding your why
Explore the importance of having a clear business vision and strong values. You'll also gain insight into identifying potential opportunities and understanding the risks involved in starting a business. 

Theme 3 – Plan, do, review
Learn how to plan effectively for your business. This theme covers key considerations when preparing to launch and highlights the purpose and components of a business plan. You’ll also learn how to find and access helpful resources, advice, and information to support your planning. 

Theme 4 – People do business with people
Understand how to establish meaningful contacts and build positive business relationships. Networking is a vital part of business success, and this theme focuses on how to connect with others to support your growth. 

Theme 5 – Change the world for your Customers
Gain the skills to identify customer needs and effectively market your product or service. You’ll also learn how to raise awareness, attract interest, and begin selling in a way that builds lasting customer relationships. 

Theme 6 – Creating Win/Win Contracts
Discover the importance of negotiation in business and develop your ability to negotiate deals, partnerships, and agreements that benefit your enterprise. 

Theme 7 – Learning by Doing - Build, Test, Pitch
This final theme runs throughout the course and supports you in writing, refining, and presenting your business model. You'll reflect on feedback, make improvements, and develop the confidence to pitch your business to others - an essential step for gaining support or funding. 

This course is fully accredited through SFEDI, the leading Awarding body for enterprise, and is fully funded for *eligible participants from the Northeast combined authority area through the Adult Education Budget. 

*Eligibility is based on income, age and postcode area, when you enquire, we'll ask a couple of questions to establish eligibility.
